Nice. I've heard middling things about Ryzen's gaming performance (which may improve as games are optimized for more cores/threads) but great things about everything else. I've seen some pretty good OC on the 1700X - 400mhz and more - so assuming the 1700 is similar, you'll probably be able to get at least a couple hundred mhz extra out of it if you squeeze it.

If you haven't opened up that memory yet I'd recommend swapping for a bit faster kit, like 3200mhz. In some games - Witcher 3 for example - it can make a difference in fps of up to 10% compared to 2666mhz. Not sure what the price difference is though. (I'm still rocking my 4690k for a couple more years, so I've pretty much ignored the new mobo and architectures and ddr4).

Out of curiosity, what gpu do you run?

My Nexus 5X died and I took it as a sign from FSM to get a replacement so now I have a Pixel and another Nexus 5X as a backup since it was under MFG warranty.

Also if anyone has any account set up with 2 factor auth, use Authy or make sure the backup method isn't your an SMS to your phone, that's broken.

Pixel is a great phone! I have an XL Gratz!

Tis very nice, minus a few hick up here and there. I'm used to the old blue screen BIOS and it took me a second to realize I could just click and type whatever number I wanted instead of you know...hitting enter and stuff.

Really happy with this board though, haven't had any problems.

I bought Mass Effect Andromeda, Hitman, Ghost Recon Wildlands and Nier Automata which I'll probably play whenever I finish my Doom 2016 and Resident Evil 7 replays..............

Out of those I plan to get Hitman, Nier Automata and Resident Evil 7.
Ghost Recon seems to be fun only with online co-op and Mass Effect doesn't seem to be clicking well for many people especially the story bits of it.

I still have to get Horizon Zero Dawn too. Recently started playing Borderlands: The Handsome Collection split screen only to find out that Guest controllers don't allow the characters stats/weapon pickups to be saved at the end of the session.
Which is a real bummer coz we played 5 hours straight and were enjoying it until when we booted it up the next time to find that only my player profile had the XP and weapons saved.

I went online and discovered that you need an official PSN profile on the controllers for the data to get saved. So we might try making dummy accounts for two controllers since two of my mates don't have a PS4 or PSN account as of now.

The ping in OverWatch was disallowing me from playing a stable game so I've managed to get quite further in the ranks of BattleField 1.
For me personally, BF: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 1 are the strongest titles in the series so far. I'd also give BattleField 3 a thumbs up.

Bad Company 2 and BF4 top the list for me. BF1 is pretty good though, at least good enough to keep me playing instead of going back to 4. We'll see what calls to me more once I've unlocked everything in BF1...

Though most of my gaming time (Zelda aside) is still split between TF2 and Rocket League, so BF doesn't get much time as it is!

I got BC2 on sale when BF3 came out, great game, sadly MP was dying, so not much gaming on it. ran great.

The problem is that a lot of RAM was having problems running faster then 2666mhz so just to e safe, I got 2666mhz. I already O/Ced it to 3100mhz so I'm pretty content. Ryzen though does show that faster ram speed = better performance at least on the gaming front.
Also with the Ryzen 7 at least the change from 1700-1700X-1800-1800X is clock speed. That's it. Apparently the 1700's where binned for lower voltage (lower heat), while the 1800-1800X where binned for sheer speed, but run hotter.

If you're going to Overclock there is no point for the X version, it really is a waste of money, and to be honest even the 1800 in some cases. I have mine right now at 3.5ghz atm on the stock spire cooler. 5 hours Prime95 stable with 62-65C. Not to shabby.

I run a R9 290 with it. Big diffrence between the R7 1700 and a Q6600 @3.6ghz on DDR2 X-X.

You're still rocking a 290 too, eh? I am waiting for Vega to decide what replaces it in my rig. Hell of a card, but it's showing its age nowadays. Doesn't keep up with VR or 1440p. I have to play Battlefield One and Dark Souls 3 in 1080p like some sort of commoner

So everyone's talking about this new nintendo console...well this one says "new" on the box, so it has to be the new one, right?

Posted Image

Jokes aside, I'm slightly angry, I ordered it online, with two games, zelda and mario, as you do. They didn't send me the games in the same package...wtf.

And since I bought it online, nowhere did it say that it doesn't include a charging cable...WTF nintendo. So even if I could dick around with homebrew instead of the actual cartridge games I bought, well I ain't got no battery, ma!
