Heya folks, what kind of personal projects or hobbies do you do to keep yourself entertained or sharp? I got a wild hair and just started to get the ball rolling on a site that helps locals and new people find resources for the city as well as post local important news. I've noticed that most local news sites post BS stories about things that happen in other cities that don't affect me or don't really matter.

Beyond that, learning new OS's and networking tools. Think r/homelab on reddit.

What about you folks?

Bored and drunk, explanation for the thread.

Well next week I am doing a project that I'm doing for work really but I wasn't asked to. I'm doing a video on what we do at the british newspaper archive. Scanning newspapers from the 1700 to around 1950.

Just bought a new camera to shoot it and also bought a new computer now so it will be better to edit on. One part I'm not looking forward to is doing the narration on the video. God I hate the sound of my voice!

Not really a 'personal project' or a hobby, but I just made my old crowbar alot cooler:

It's not the same shape as in Half-Life but with the right colors it looks pretty :whack: to me.
The paint is still fresh, I think I want to damage it a little bit to make it look more used like the parts that are bare metal.

Hmmm, You should acid-etch a small lambda logo on the near the bend of the crowbar, make it seem like some official product.

Why do you want to make a language based on C? Going to guess it has to do with making robots?

Presently I am:
I am presently doing web coding work for people on a site I probably can't about yet
Learning newer OpenGL specs and some physics library stuff to help develop Polycode, so I can start making my own little dumb games
Ongoing upgrading of my ubuntu server and VMs and software
Finally buying a car (being near free public transportation is coming to an end  )

Probably won't go anywhere, It's just an amalgamation of different ideas from different languages, mostly c with classes, no headers, trying to figure out how it would work properly

The world needs more games inspired by Advance Wars.
