For any of you guys looking for a nudge to get into a Virtual Reality headset, well here it its: Virtual Desktop introduced a remote desktop viewer that puts your own desktop inside your virtual reality world.

Now imagine having your own personal cinema, add a new depth to gaming, experience 3D videos and switch between experiences on the fly. Watch the Trailer!

Will be available via steam on March 28th

I think this has been available for months now, but they hit v1.0, which is cool.

Apparently this has very low overhead, so it won't ruin performance, but for some stupid windows reason you can't have more virtual monitors than you have real monitors recognised by windows.

I've been using the DK2 version on and off for months. The DK2's limited resolution makes reading text pretty terrible, but for navigating in the headset and watching video it's still pretty good. And the improvement in res and refresh rate in the consumer Rift and Vive releases apparently help significantly. This app is definitely in my must-have list when it launches.

You can always trick it by using something like a Headless Ghost dongle. I don't care to buy one of those though, so hopefully in the coming months a workaround will be found... maybe
