Digital Foundry takes a look at Half-Life on the Dreamcast

Digital Foundry have been doing a series of technical reviews of some older games recently, this week they take a look at the unreleased Dreamcast version of the game. Have a watch to compare them to the Playstation 2 and PC version of the game.

By the time they introduced the Dreamcast, which was incredible for its time, Sega had already lost the good will of the people. Most console customers and developers knew to skip this version and wait for the upcoming release of the Nintendo GameCube, Sony Playstation 2 and the new kid on the block, Microsoft X-Box. All of which had beefier specs than the Dreamcast.
Its a beautifully designed console that many future console developers took hints to improve their designs.

Well today the barriers to entry for smaller indie studios are lower than ever before and for many of them 2d makes sense rather than spending exorbitant amounts making a 3d world.
